Possible application of image analysis for forecasting the yield of apples (Malus domestica Borkh.) in the north-eastern Croatia

Sažetak

The possibility of digital imaging and image processing for early forecasting of the apple yield was researched in the varieties Golden Delicious, Jonagold and Idared grafted on M9 in nine orchards of the Međimurje county (Croatia). Each variety was tested on three locations, whereby the highest accuracy was achieved with Idared (-734 kg/ha), followed by Jonagold (+3.266 kg/ha) and Golden Delicious (-4.700 kg/ha). The future experiments will involve new locally adopted growing curves and other apple varieties growing on locally.
