Sažetak
Tennis is categorized as a complex sporting activity.
It is characterised by a large number of different
techniques of movement that are mostly performed by
maximum speed in a long period of time. Movements
consist of re-starting, acceleration and slowing down and
rapid changes of direction, of which the outcome of the
stroke and the tactical component are in direct
dependencies. For this reason the most important and
most represented motor skills are starting speed and
acceleration as well as quick change of direction.
Plyometric method is one of the most effective methods
for developing different types of explosive power using
eccentric - concentric muscle work. This paper presents
the basic features necessary for the implementation of
explosive power training-plyometric type. Important
information about the anatomic and physiological
features, as well as concepts of muscle contraction during
plyometric training are often unknown or less important
for the implementation of the plyometric training. General
guidelines and instructions rely on the anatomicphysiological
component of the information when
implementing plyometric training. The most interesting
provisions of plyometric training processes are the basic
features of the program, frequency, volume and intensity.
For safe and efficient implementation of training, tennis
player must first be subjected to exercise performance
testing.
