CROATICA CRHISTIANA PERIODICA (CCP) is a periodical published by the Institute for the ecclesiastical history of the Catholic theological faculty of the University of Zagreb. Initial idea for such publication came in 1977 from several enthusiasts (A. Ivandija, M. Biskup, B. Duda T. J. Šagi-Bunić, F. Šanjek i J. Turčinović), and their intention was to initiate investigation of the Croatian ecclesiastical history and religious culture. Moreover, they wanted that this periodical become major publication for publishing primary sources and scientific studies in order to establish scientifically founded ecclesiastical history among Croats. CCP, presently edited by the aforementioned Institute, and issued by publishing house Kršćanska sadašnjost (Zagreb, Croatia), is divided on several sections. The main one is “Rasprave i vrela” (Articles and primary sources), and other are “Prikazi i recenzije” (Reviews and evaluations), “Kronika” (Chronicle) and “Primljene publikacije” (Received publications). Moreover, occasionally the periodical contains these sections: “Priopćenja” (Notes) consisted of smaller contributions, “Bibliografija” (Bibliography) and “Dossier” that contains contributions regarding anniversaries in Croatian ecclesiastical history. CCP welcomes any kind of cooperation with ecclesiastical and laic historians, whether they are from Croatia or any other country. From 1979 the periodical is published twice a year, and from 1977 to 2006 there are 58 published volumes. Articles published in these volumes special attention is drawn to the ecclesiastical topography, toponymy, history of the ecclesiastical orders and their institutions. Moreover, questions about relations between Croats and the Holy See, role of the Church regarding the educational development, sacral heritage are also often presented. Furthermore, one can find there many articles about role of the distinguished Croats concerning European integrative processes (e.g. Herman Dalmatin, Ivan Stojković, Andrija Jamometić, Vinko Paletin etc.). From the first volume until now CCP published more than 1000 bibliographical articles: app. 500 evaluations and reviews, app. 250 scientific discussions, 63 notes, 80 chronic notes (chronicle), app. 60 bibliographical contributions and 7 dossiers. By the same token, each volume has competent review of received publications. Moreover, in 1999 two volumes (43 and 44) were published as a single issue containing 638 pages, analytic index of personal and geographical names. The periodical publishes text not only in Croatian but also in foreign languages, and it is cited in foreign publications: Scriptores OP medii aevi, Orientalia christiana periodica (Rome), Archivum historiae pontificiae (Universitas Pontificia Gregoriana, Rome), Revue d'histoire ecclesiastique Université de Louvain, Belgium), Cristianesimo nella storia (Istituto per le ricerche di storia sociale e religiosa, Vicenza, Italy), Bosna Franciscana (Časopis Franjevačke teologije u Sarajevu – Journal of Franciscan theology in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hercegovina), Institut de l'Information scientifique et technique (CNRS, France).
