Abstract
Hydrocephalus is a medical condition characterized by excessive accumulation of
cererospinal fluid in the ventricles or cavities of the brain which can lead to increased intracranial
pressure. Based on its underlying mechanisms can be classified into communicating
and non-communicating or obstructive. Both forms can be either congenital or acquired.
Main sing of congenital hydrocephalus is unussualy large head in infant or a child. Acute dilatation
of ventricle is to mainifest with non specific signs and symptoms of increassed intracranial
pressure. Chronic dilatation has more insidious onset presenting for instance Hakim-
Adams triad, congnitive impairment, gait disturbence, incontinence. Tretman of
hidrocephalus is operative.e.
