Abstract

Psychodrama is an action form of group psychotherapy. Besides verbalization, it uses movements and body language as means of expression. It is the most interpretive therapy method, as interpretation occurs through so called direction of scenes and acting out of the problem. A psychodrama experiential therapeutic group consisting of seventh- and eighth-grade primary school students from Zagreb was active for two school years in continuity. The most frequent psychodrama interpretations were used: the double, role-reversal and mirroring. Despite organizational problems, a constant psychotherapy setting was achieved within the school, which helped participants in the group in their emotional maturation, thus preparing them for adult life. By repeating and acting out similar themes, the anxiety of the participants was lowered, and by role-playing and emphasizing the importance of game the interpretive character of psychodrama sessions was consolidated. All this contributed to
the acquisition of corrective emotional experience in the adolescents.
