Abstract
Reconstruction of a vessel, especially conversion from point of view of terrotechnology is a very complex and an expensive process. Alhtough it is technically very demanding, the conversion of an old vessel is sometimes financially more acceptable solution, than the construction of a new vessel. That type of solution is possible with all embracing analysis of the system of the existing vessel and a clear vision of the application and terms for the exploitation of a future vessel. By means of optimization of a new system and by their integration into existing systems of well chosen old vessel, considerable savings might be achieved in comparison to the construction of a new vessel. Before the construction in a shipyard, it is very important to set a technological model of a conversion of a vessel with appropriate changes inside all vessel's systems. Typical example reveals radical conversion of larger fishing vessel into training and research vessel. A new vessel complied with a very complex requirements both of research vessel and a vessel for seafarers' training.
