Abstract

This paper presents three designs for the Hajduk football stadium created by the architect Frano Gotovac between 1965 and 1975. The first one was conceived for the site of the present stadium on Stari plac while the other two were intended for the site in Poljud. The stadiums are characterized by a specific appearance. The role of the context, i.e. the architect’s view of an integration
between a sports facility and the surrounding landscape characterizes all three projects.
