Abstract

The article on Koprivnica coal-.mine infrastructure is solely bases on archive research conducted at Croatian State Archives and Archives of (former) Yugoslavia. The research covers the immediate post-WW II. period until late March 1952. This is an era of a strongly centralized administrative socialism in all aspects of life – politics, economy and social environment. Since the focus was on
rapid industrialization of the country, the largest administration was in the field of economy. The newly emerged post-war country had a critical urgency for transportation system. The mining was
organized by the People’s Republic of Croatia Ministry of Industry and Mining, so the management of Koprivnica coal-mine organized the operations kick start on 1 October,1945. In August 1950, they
already had 3 steam locomotives (1 gasoline, 1 diesel fuel operated, 1 malfunctioning); 183 wagonettes (175 of them operational); 6 tumbler carts, 20 wagon tumblers (17 of them operational). By the
end of March 1952, railway transport at Koprivnica coal-mine had a total of 1 administrator and 39 miners.
