Abstract

On the cervical part of the tooth various pathological processes can be seen. Loss of hard tooth structure in the tooth cervix can be caused by caries, erosion, abrasion and abfraction. In this paper the mechanism of the development, clinical appearance and therapeutic approach for each of these lesions is discussed. The role of the dentist is emphasised in the prevention of the incidence of cervical lesions.
