Abstract

In this paper, a system that enables the use of the most advanced technology based on software, hardware and a combination of measurement technologies was presented. Hybrid Positioning technology enables the use of both methods of measurement - GNNS positioning and optical measurement (total stations) - to save time and improve productivity, as well as work efficiency. MAGNET Field software, in combination with the mentioned hardware solutions, represents a basic component of the hybrid positioning system. The system enables faster measurement in the field compared to robot measuring stations or RTK rovers. It reduces the requirement for conventional traversing methods and constant moving of the instrument. The functionality of the hybrid system was tested during a student field workshop under real operating conditions. A comparison with conventional surveying methods was made, taking into consideration duration and accuracy.
