Abstract

The paper describes the impact of the regulation system of the delivery of goods in urban areas on the
distribution system organization. The comparison of the following three systems of city logistics used in the European Union has been done: the method of distribution by the implementation of consolidation centers; the method of distribution by using environmentally friendly vehicles; and the method of distribution by implementation of the cargo flow control. The comparison has been done on a hypothetical example. Distribution parameters needed for the calculation have been defined (cargo distribution is carried out with 120 vehicles, which thereby pass 1,000 kilometers per day). The operational and external costs of the transport systems for each of the distribution system have been simulated, and their effects have been analyzed. The comparison of the distribution systems carried out in the paper make it possible to choose and decide about the particular concept of the goods distribution in cities. It also provides the analysis of the rolling stock costs due to the application of a particular distribution system.
