Abstract

Strawberry is a crop that is grown in Croatia at about 3000 hectares with an average yield of 8-10 tons (Statistical Yearbook, 2009). The breeding cycles of strawberries has 2-3 harvest, and then raise new plantations. Establishing new plantations is usually performed by planting “frigo” seedlings at the end of summer or early fall, depending on the climatic conditions of each year. How the growing cycle of strawberries has many years’ character, proper soil preparation and basic fertilization with proper nutrition after planting are very important. Good development and high and economically viable fruit yield is expected as early as next growing season.
