Abstract

In the experiment carried out on 124 pigletts in 2 repetitions, horse beans (Vicia faba) were used as protein substitution for soy expeller. Feedmix used for fattening up to 60 kgs live weight contained 0; 6,3; 12,5 and 18.8% of horse-beans, while for fattening up to 100 kgs contained 5,8; 11,7 and 17.1.% (substitution on levels 1/3, 2/3 and 3/3). The results showed no significant differences in terminal live weight, daily gain and slaughtering parameters, but higher percentage of horse-beans slightly decreased the feed: gain ratio.
