Abstract
This investigation was carried out at the Swine Farm in Sesvete on the basis of datas from record books. The results of breeding performance of 37 boars of Large White breed of different origin (Great Britain 15, KPD Lepoglava 5, AIK Čoka 17 boars) and litter size of their daughters were statisticaly analysed by the methods of Snedecor and Cohren (1967). On the basis of the obtained results the following conclusion may be drawn: 1) It was estimated very significant effect of different boars origin on litter size of their daughters. 2) Purebred sow-daughters of boars originated form KPD Lepoglava have had the biggest litter size (9,96), insignificantly less daughters of boars originated from AIK Čoka (9,90), but very significantly less (P <0,01) farrowed the daughters of boars originated from Great Britain (9,20). 3) Crossbred sow-daughters of boars originated from KPD Lepoglava farrowed very significantly more piglets (11,00), than the crossbred sow-daughters originated from Great Britain (10,24) and AIK Čoka (10,64) respectively. 4) It is important to stress that imported boars from Great Britain have had expressed the lower breeding performance than domestic-bred boars.
