Abstract
By means of a short questionnaire 283 students from three different schools were asked about their attitudes towards the food sterilized by ionizing radiation. The results have shown that a great majority of subjects were afraid of taking such food and expressed preference for classically sterilized food. They said that they would even prefer to have their teeth or chest X-rayed rather than eat radiated food. It is concluded that the population should be instructed through public information media about real dangers of radiation and about where such dangers do not exist at all.
