Prevalence of chronic bronchitis in samples of industrial population in Croatia

Abstract

The chronic bronchitis rate, FEV1,0 values and mucopurulent sputum findings were analyzed in a group of 847 cement workers and .in 602 controls with regard to their place of living. The results obtained indicate that the examined workers, which are comparable with regard to the job and occupational exposure, do not show predicted differences in the prevalence of findings relevant to chronic bronchitis in relation to climate and geographical characteristics of the region in which they live.
