Abstract

We live in a society of individuals seeking active cooperation in all events and challenges. Accordingly, educational institutions need to respond to the needs of society while encouraging the activity of each individual. Since active learning promotes the development of knowledge, skills and abilities (competencies), thus it is a successful way to quality education. The paper is based on theoretical knowledge seeks to demonstrate the value and function of active learning in the context of education. It also said a review and analysis of relevant research that dealt with active learning in the Republic of Croatia, starting from pre‐school and primary school through to secondary education. It is expected that work will have a positive scientific, educational, practical and professional effects in encouraging more frequent implementation of active learning, with the purpose of creating a quality education.
