Abstract

In Freud’s theoretical works the idea of empathy is represented more as a notion of the problem than as a complete psychoanalytical concept. When empathy is in question, Freud prefers to rely on the sources of the liberal literature and philosophy (1, 2, 3), rather than on the exact scientific issues. Many authors from various countriesdo the same things (4). With the course of time, empathy as the idea and theoretical issue has become more and more important component in psychoanalysis, until at last it was given an essential role of psychology of the self. It became thus the starting point for numerous researches in modern psychological disciplines. In this work I have tried to bring closer the main developmental courses of the ideas of empathy and its objects, which has been my wish for a long time.
