Case report
Experiencing Architectural Drawing; Vladimir Brezar
Tihana Hrastar
Abstract
Conceptual drawing still remains an elementary tool of an architect in spite of all modern technical instruments and technology. Computer drawing will never substitute the elementary and intuitive connection between the eye, the brain and the hand. The greatest significance of the book is that it contains over one hundred drawings, all made by the author, during his long-lasting experience as an architect, ranging from field sketches of existing buildings and ambiences to representative and technical drawings. One could perhaps feel a certain kind of nostalgia for the past and the author’s worry about the hand drawing falling into oblivion. The presumption could be that the author’s intention was to offer an inspiration for the development of drawing skills through which one can gain a new perspective of the environment and an insight into one’s personal inner world.
