Abstract

The main objective of this study is to reflect on the text written by a patient diagnosed with
a personality disorder who sent the text to his psychiatrist after finishing long-term treatment.
Quotes are provided to illustrate the patient’s thoughts regarding his psychopathology
and his psychiatrist and to illustrate aspects of the patient’s response to his diagnosis as it
was explained to him, as well as transference and self-stigmatization from the point of view
of a psychiatry resident.
