Abstract
Animals appear on the coats-of-arms of a quarter of the municipalities of the Republic of Croatia. In many of them they are the sole or main element, whilst in some of the coats-of-arms, the animals have a supplementary or auxiliary role, alongside some other elements of their identity. Of the total of 428 municipalities in the Republic of Croatia, 107 display animals on their coats-of-arms. In the first part of this review, in the previous issue, we presented the frequency of the depiction of animals on the coats-of-arms of the municipalities and mentioned the birds and water animals (fish, molluscs, amphibians...) depicted on them, whilst in this part of our consideration we talk about land animals: wild animals (mammals, reptiles, insects) and mythological animals and mythical creatures shown with the body parts
of animals, and domestic animals (mammals and insects), whilst domestic birds were considered earlier. In the end, we present a combined conclusion about the depiction of animals in contemporary state and municipal heraldry (county, city and municipal) in the Republic of Croatia.
