Abstract
Bioeconomy and biomass utilization are increasingly important in all the leading strategic documents, both national and the European ones. The largest source of biomass is agriculture, so the goal of this research was to investigate the economic efficiency of agropellet production using the crop residues. The paper used the primary data obtained through the interviews and publicly available financial data on operations and prices. The business success was evaluated subsequent to an investment in the plant to produce the agropellets, with the aim to better utilize the crop residues and improve the business, using the efficiency and profitability indicators. The efficiency coefficient value was greater than 1 for all three analyzed years, which indicates a successful business, as was the profitability indicator, which had the values of 15.91–37.02%.
