Abstract

‘Zlatarica Vrgorska’ is a native grapevine variety grown in the Vrgorac winegrowing area. Defoliation and cluster thinning are different viticultural practices. Depending on the period of application, defoliation can be early or late. Cluster thinning is usually carried out from the end of flowering (fruit set) until the appearance of the vérasion. The analysis of the chemical indicators of must quality indicated statistically significant differences in the content of sugar and total acids in the must in both experimental variants at the Topolac location, and in the thinning and defoliation variant at the Telčuša location. In the analysis of volatile compounds, the location had a significant influence.
