Abstract
The paper examines an opinion of the students at the University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Agriculture about entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial education, with a focus on agriculture. A student survey was used to analyze their views on the importance of entrepreneurship, previous experiences with entrepreneurship, and their willingness to engage in entrepreneurial activities after completing their higher education. The results proved a high level of agreement among the students regarding the importance of entrepreneurship for an economic development, innovation, and competitiveness in agriculture. Although most students recognize the importance of entrepreneurial education, they believed that a support and infrastructure at the Faculty could have been improved. A lack of additional programs such as the workshops and mentoring was also highlighted as a drawback. Based on the findings, the paper suggests the guidelines to improve the curricula and provide additional support to the students to acquire the entrepreneurial skills that would increase their readiness to start their own agricultural business in the future.
