Abstract
A successful agricultural production is impossible without a transfer of knowledge from the researchers to the farmers. An efficient arrangement of Agricultural Knowledge and Information Systems (AKISs) plays a key role in this chain. In the current 2023–27 programming period of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), a major emphasis is placed on an increased application of knowledge and innovation—that is, on the enhancement of the AKISs. This paper’s objective is to determine the characteristics of the AKISs in Croatia. For the sake of this paper, the published open-access papers dealing with the AKISs in Croatia were analyzed. Some of the AKISs’ characteristics are the fragmentation and public-institution influence, a lack of significant research and innovation, and a lack of cooperation between the stakeholders.
