Abstract

The Archive of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (CASA) keeps one of the most fundamental collections of medieval and early modern charters regarding Croatian history, called the Diplomata. Work on creating its inventory and making the regesta for its charters was started by a group of the Academy’s employees and honorary collaborators led by Antun Mayer. Each charter was placed in a separate envelope, signed with an appropriate signature and accompanied by a short Latin regestum. In order that these charters might become as accessible to scholars as possible, in 1959 there started the publishing of the regesta of medieval charters in Zbornik Historijskog instituta Jugoslavenske akademije (today Zbornik Odsjeka za povijesne znanosti Zavoda za povijesne i društvene znanosti HAZU) by Jakov Stipišić and Miljen Šamšalović. The regesta of the charters dating from before 1526 have been published in four instalments, a task that was concluded with vol. 5 of the Zbornik. The work on publishing of the regesta was continued in 2007 and the regesta of the charters covering the period from 1527 to 1537 have been published in vols. 25 and 26 of the Zbornik. In this volume, as the third part of the Regesta, there are those related to the charters from 1538 to 1545.
