Abstract
The Croatian priest and historian Krunoslav Draganović /1903-1983/ became known in the world and the public of former Yugoslavia mainly by his actions in the rescue of tens of thousand of persecuted and outlawed Croatian refugees. Therefore, his »retum« to communist Yugoslavia in 1967 was a worldwide sensation. Was it abduction or voluntary return? An espionage affair or a profound ideological and national conflict? It provoked passio¬nate debates, especially in Croatian emigrant circles, where as the Croats at home considered it a painful, tabooed one.
