Abstract
The author begins with a presentation of several opinions on ideology, especially Marixst, expressed by contemporary thinkers: Gramsci, Lukacs, Korch, Kosik, the Frankfurt,School, Althausser and theoreticians of the Marist Historical School who forget ideology and introduce a new term — "mentality". A sociological perception was born which completely rejects the Marxist components within itself. The author uses Mannheim as an example to illustrate the difficulties of breaking with ideological bonds. As a result, a myth has been created of a liberation from the ideological lies of the old ideology and the birth of a new ideology of intelluctuals. Psychological perceptions distance themselves even further from Marxism than sociological ones, proclaiming ideology to be a pathological form of consciousness like schizophrenia. Marxist ideology experiences the fullness of its crisis by the affirmation of the secular consciousness of modern man. Ideology in the political sense has begun to be considered as a tool of totalitarian and repressive regimes. After secularization, the original concept of ideology is divided into two parts: general (ideology in the broad sense) and specific (false consciousness). Thus arose the conclusion that we are in the process of the "death of ideology", brought about by its declining reputation and a centering of attention on man as an individual, a product of the intensification of bourgeois individualism.
