Abstract

This paper represents the basic concepts for a process information model that will satisfy all the needs of a modern power system under the circumstances of new technological achievements, standards and the liberalized power sector. New technological solutions that are used in substation automation systems are shown. Previous process information models used in the power system are presented. Basic concepts to define a new power system substation process information model are presented, which is the basis for the definition of intelligent solutions for efficiently managing the entire power system.
