Contribution to the Knowledge of the Legacy of the Munk Sisters and the Krvarić Couple

The house at Franjina 5, near the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul in Osijek, was the home of the sisters Hermine, Adele and Emilija Munk from 1922 to October 1944, who had been married to Kamil Krvarić since 1917. During that period, they were all participants in the social, and especially musical, life in Osijek. Kamilo Krvarić, captain of the 78th Infantry Regiment, in civilian life director of the Civic Printing House and the Hrvatski list since 1935, was a self-taught painter, exhibited at joint exhibitions, and occasionally wrote in the Hrvatski list about musical and artistic life in Osijek.
With the departure of the Krvarić couple to Zagreb, the sisters Hermina and Adela Munk continued to take care of the joint legacy of Munk and Krvarić, now at Zadarska 5, for years after 1945. The paper describes the procedures for storing and donating the legacy of Munk and Krvarić to the Museum of Slavonia before the demolition of Zadarska 5. From May 2022 to June 2024, in four donations, in a total of 13 deliveries, the described material was delivered to the State Archives in Osijek, to the archive fund HR-DAOS-2108 Perča, Ljerka. In this regard, the author of this text was awarded a Certifi cate of Appreciation for the donation of private archival material to the State Archives in Osijek on March 3, 2025. The research paid special attention to the oil painting by R. Marčić and the watercolor by K. Tomljenović from the Munich phase of his painting studies in 1923, which are owned by the author and have been unknown to the art public until now, and were previously in the possession of Kamil Krvarić at Franjina 5.
