The Battle of Krk in 49 BC - remains of Gaius Antonius’s camp on Bejavec

Sažetak
The paper identifies the remains of stone wall foundations enclosing
a rectangular space with rounded corners, covering an
area of approximately 4 hectares, at the Bejavec site on the island
of Krk. Given that reconstructions of the conflict between
Caesarian forces (led by Gaius Antonius) and Pompeian forces
(led by Marcus Octavius), specifically at the site in question,
have been extensively debated over the last century, the author
concludes that the rectangular formation on Bejavec can only
represent the remains of the camp of Gaius Antonius, which Lucan
himself indirectly mentions in his epic Pharsalia.
