Abstract

This paper deals with carrier liability for damage caused in road transport on the territory
of Croatia and neighbouring countries, i.e. the former Socialist Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia (the Republic of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and the Republic
of Slovenia). In particular, we analyse the legal rules governing carrier liability in national
and international road transport, respectively, in the event of damage caused to passengers,
baggage or goods. Similarities and differences in these rules in the aforementioned countries
are also emphasised.
