Abstract
Stjepan Tomislav Poglajen (1906-1990) was editor of Jesuit journal Život (Life) from 1937 to 1941. At that time the journal was in the true sense »full of life«, and it was such owning exclusively to the incredible energy, lucidity and powerful spiritual vision of its editor. The author draws our attention, in one section of this essay to those of Poglajen's articles with a spiritual content which reveal his strenght of character. Special attention was given to the analysis of the editors antitotalitarian writings directed against Communism and National-Socialism. He places them under the commom heading – Atheism and Antitheism. The remainder of this essay endeavours to clarify the journal's editing policies which made possible the publishing of articles written by reputable writers – many of whom were lay people – on philosophy, history, sociology, pedagogy, culture and ther fields, for the purpose for giving readers a secure Chatolic orientation.
