A CONTRIBUTION TO THE RESEARCH ON CAUSES OF MAIZE LEAF DISEASES

Abstract
Different factors, among them maize left diseases, can cause a rether significant drop of maize yield and a deterioration in quality of maize. In our country, Helminthosporium turcicum is one of the most important causes of maize leaf diseases. However, Helminthosporitum carbonum, Kabatiella zeae, Puccinia maydis, Phylosticta maydis show the tendency of expansion and from time to time in some localities the change in intensity of the disease. This report deals also with other causes of leaf diseases, which can be found in our country, as well as wirth those that are known in other. Countries as very important, such as Helminthosporium maydis, Colletotrichum graminicolum, Physoderma maydis, Septoria maydis, etc.
