Abstract

The problem of the control of weeds in maize fields is being successfully solved by the application of combinations of herbicides from the TRIAZINE group. With the application of such combinations negative effects on the crop have been avoided. The herbicides, mostly in use today, such as Agelon and Gesaprim, do not solve the problem of grass veeds in maize crop (Sorghum, Cynodon, Setarie etc.) The maize is resistant to herbicides from this group if they are properly applied. However, the question is posed whether all lines and hybrids are equally resistant to their effect. At the Maize Research Institute the research has been started on the resistance of lines and hybrids of maize to the effect of herbicides from the TRIAZINE group.
