Sažetak

Discography – sound recordings and music publishing – is very important for the
quality of music in every community because it has a significant influence on the musicians,
audience and culture in general. Also, discography is especially important for the
preservation and promotion of the Croatian musical heritage and contemporary classical
music. This paper addresses the problems in the field of discography and archiving
of sound recordings of the musical heritage of Varaždin and Varaždin region. Drawing
primarily from his own experience as a long-time music director and producer, the
author focuses on the activity of the Aulos Association, which he presides over and
which has so far released more than 50 titles, mainly in collaboration with other relevant
institutions. One of the major activities of Aulos is the one related to the Varaždin
Baroque Evenings festival and Varaždin Concert Agency: this refers to the Varaždin
Baroque Evenings Audio Archives project. In the overview of the published discography,
the author highlights the albums by three composers from the 18th and 19th century
musical heritage of Varaždin: Ivan Padovec, Leopold Ebner and Ivan Krstitelj Vaňhal,
but also the Aulos editions of contemporary Varaždin composers such as Davor Bobić
and Anđelko Igrec, as well as many Varaždin soloists, choirs and orchestras whose
albums have also been released by Aulos. In his conclusion, the author emphasizes the
importance of further work in this field, especially in terms of the planned project of
digitalisation of old sound recordings at risk of loss in order to make them accessible to
the public via Internet so that musicians and musicologists and general public can learn
more about the musical heritage of Varaždin. Aulos has released sound recording media of performances given by some of the world’s best ensembles and artists (Herbert
von Karajan, Lovro von Matačić, Karl Richter, Robert Stolz, Vladimir Kranjčević, Pavle
Dešpalj, Placido Domingo, José Carreras, Ruža Pospiš-Baldani, Nada Puttar-Gold, Jurica
Murai, Rudolf Klepač, Dunja Vejzović, Tomislav Neralić, Franjo Petrušanec, Vlatka
Oršanić, Višnja Mažuran and many others). Ivana Krstitelja Vaňhala (1739. – 1813.). „Aulos” također objavljuje i prva izdanja suvremenih
hrvatskih (u prvom redu varaždinskih) skladatelja (Davor Bobić, Anđelko
Igrec i drugi). Do sada, predstavljeno je preko 50 izdanja nosača zvuka na kojima su
zabilježene u izvedbe vrhunskih svjetskih dirigenata, ansambala i umjetnika (Herbert
von Karajan, Lovro pl. Matačić, Karl Richter, Robert Stolz, Vladimir Kranjčević, Pavle
Dešpalj, Placido Domingo, José Carreras, Ruža Pospiš-Baldani, Nada Puttar-Gold, Jurica
Murai, Rudolf Klepač, Dunja Vejzović, Tomislav Neralić, Franjo Petrušanec, Vlatka
Oršanič, Višnja Mažuran i mnogi drugi).
