Sažetak
Smoking is widespread generally accepted bad habit. Despite that fact, even health care workers ignore
the bad influence of consuming tobacco on their health.
The aim of this study is to explore the smoking habit among health care workers in primary healthcare
institutions of Požeško-slavonska county and see the difference in prevelation of smoking among them
based on their gender.
In the research involved 94 health care workers. Standardized questionnare modified for researche needs
was used as an instrument for collecting informations.
Out of 94 respondents, 23 (25%) are male and 71 (75%) female. Mid age value is 37 years with the related
interquartile range from 33-52 years old. 39 (41%) plead as smokers, 47 (50%) non- smokers and 8 (9%)
former smokers.
Given the results and the fact that health care workers (nurses/doctors) were part of the researche, it is
devastating that so many of them consume tobacco products beeing well known with the negative effects
of tobacco on human’s health.
