Sažetak
The profit-oriented system as the dominant paradigm, in addition to all its benefits, generates numerous problems in society. It is especially significant in terms of vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities. Social entrepreneurship could be a model that contributes to combating social problems. It integrates social and economic goals and takes place between profit and non-profit sectors. Social entrepreneurship has rooted in the 18th century, but in recent decades, it has been actualized and studied intensively, especially during periods of economic crisis. The purpose of this paper is to provide crucial information about social entrepreneurship. Considering that, the paper consists of chapters about historical development and definitions of social entrepreneurship, institutional and normative framework, especially in the Croatian context, an example of social entrepreneur and conclusion.
