Abstract
The paper examines the influence of axial tension on the linear electrical resistance of single-layer aluminum alloy conductors and showed that when the tension is applied the linear resistance stabilizes at a lower level in comparison to conductors with no tension or with low value of tension. The effect of pressure forces occurring in the interwire contact area was also examined and it was found that the hardness of the material and the range of deformation locally increases as the average pressure at maximum compression force increases.
