Abstract

The data for 240 probands (114m/126w) with Down Syndrome, aged from 054 years, and the data for
weight, height, nutritional behavior were collected, facultatively also the actual laboratory check values.
There was clearly shown that BMI is increasing with age, and that the most of the people with SD soon or
later in life are confrontated by obesity. Probands, who have more than >75. percentile of BMI, have a
higher energyinput (+12 %), also a higher input of fat, espetialy of animal fat. In the analysis of the
micro nutrition elements in all weight classes the input of vitamins and trace elements is not sufficient.
The levels for Iodium, Selenium, HDL, vitamine A, Biotine and vitamine E were lower, while levels of LDL
were higher. In the group of BMI >75.percentile the levels and the input were lower.
