Half a Century of Prilozi: Some Statistical Indicators

Abstract
This paper presents basic quantitative data on the volumes of Prilozi za istraživanje hrvatske filozofske baštine from 1975 to 2024. The data pertain to the scope of published research, the categories and themes of the papers, the authors, the extent of international collaboration, and the status of Prilozi at “Hrčak”. The analysis reveals a steady increase in the number of pages in Prilozi and a stable ratio of research papers to other categories of papers, aligned with the usual standards of Croatian journal publishing. The contributions predominantly focus on older Croatian philosophy, particularly Renaissance philosophy, which accounts for more than a third of all research papers. While three-quarters of the authors are men, the proportion of contributions by women is high, especially among current and former employees of the Institute of Philosophy. A notable trend in recent years is the increasing number of papers published in foreign languages, authored by both Croatian and foreign researchers. This contrasts with earlier periods, when papers by foreign authors were typically translated into Croatian. Finally, data on article downloads indicate that papers addressing topics beyond narrowly defined philosophical themes, extending into other areas, are downloaded more frequently.
