Sažetak

The results of soil chemical analyses provide insight into the nutrient status of the soil, while chemical analysis of plant material (leaves) indicates the nutrient status of the plant. Soil analysis, and especially plant tissue analysis, are important indicators and reliable tools for planning and implementing fertilization programs for woody crops. Unfortunately, such analyses of soil and/or plant material are often performed only after problems become apparent, rather than being conducted regularly every 3–4 years. Analysis is necessary from physiological, ecological, and financial perspectives, as it reveals whether fertilization is needed, and if so, which fertilizers to use, in what quantities, and at what time. This helps avoid “blind” fertilization, supports stable and sustainable yields, and protects the environment. The research covers specific localities in the Komarna and Brač areas: 17 ARKOD vineyard plots managed by 6 producers. The study presents the timing and method of grapevine leaf sampling for chemical analyses, as well as the results of leaf chemical analyses for essential macroelements (N, P, K, Ca, Mg) and microelements (Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu, and B). The results show significant variations, ranging from optimal conditions to situations requiring urgent intervention. In certain locations, grapevines show deficiencies in some elements: N, P, Mg, Zn, and Mn, while levels of Ca, Fe, and B are generally optimal. Special emphasis is placed on monitoring Cu, which should include a reassessment of its use and monitoring its content at all stages of production, including in the wine.
