Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze how agricultural education programs
have been integrated into the education system and what role they play in
preparing future professionals for the agricultural industry. As a branch of
the economy, agriculture has a key role in ensuring food security, economic
development, and environmental sustainability. Therefore, it is important to
examine how education can support the sustainable development of agriculture
and rural communities.
This research also includes a survey exploring enrollment trends in agricultural
secondary schools in Osijek-Baranja County and identifying the factors that
influence students’ decisions to pursue such educational pathways.
The findings provide valuable insight into the dynamics between education
and the labor market in the agricultural sector and highlight the need for further
promotion and development of agricultural education programs in order
to meet the future demands for qualified professionals in agriculture.
