Recipients of Agricultural Support Payments in Osijek-Baranja County in 2023

Abstract

This paper analyzes the types, distribution, and effects of agricultural support measures in Osijek-Baranja County during 2023, with an emphasis on European Union funds and national support schemes. The aim of the study was to examine how financial support was allocated among local government units and to identify patterns of fund utilization that contribute to production modernization, increased competitiveness, and the sustainability of rural areas. The research was based on official data from the Paying Agency for Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Development (APPRRR) and employed descriptive, analytical, and comparative methods of data processing. The results show significant differences in the use of support measures among municipalities and towns, with the largest amounts allocated through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF). It is concluded that support measures play a key role in strengthening the resilience of agricultural holdings, improving local infrastructure and enhancing the overall sustainability of rural areas.
