Sažetak
Most fifteenth-century documents related to the church and monastery at Glavotok were written in Latin, with some in Croatian and some in Italian; therefore, all these sources must be taken into account in order to obtain a comprehensive historical picture. This Italian-language segment of the mosaic sheds light on certain events connected with the period of the foundation of the monastery and church of the Third Order of St Francis at Glavotok. In addition to their value for historical research, these texts may also be used for linguistic analysis of early Italian and the presence of Venetian linguistic elements. This paper presents transcriptions and concise summaries of several Italian-language documents related to the beginnings of the Monastery of St Mary at Glavotok. The texts are partly taken from the works of Stjepan M. Ivančić and partly from manuscript documents. From these sources we learn about the benefactions of Count Ivan VII Frankapan of Krk toward the Franciscan Tertiaries, as well as about his act of confiscating property and, later, his support of Friar Matej in his efforts to regain possession of the Glavotok estate from the Venetian authorities.
