Sažetak
The aim of this review is to present the results to date of the calibration models developed to predict the fermentation quality of grass and maize silage using NIR spectroscopy. In previous studies, 33 to 920 samples were used for the development of calibration models. The results show a wide range of coefficient of determination (R2 ) for each of the predicted fermentation quality parameter (0.62-0.98 for pH; 0.65-0.96 for acetic acid; 0.59-0.96 for lactic acid; 0.48-0.86 for propionic acid; 0.27-0.91 for butyric acid, 0.72-0.98 for NH3 -N). The results presented also show a wide range of standard error of prediction (SEP) (0.07-0.15 for pH; 0.13-0.64 for acetic acid; 0.39-0.91 for lactic acid; 0.08-0.62 for propionic acid; 0.6-0.85 for butyric acid; 0.03-1.46 for NH3 -N) and standard error of calibration (SEC) (0.06-0.49 for pH; 0.1-0.88 for acetic acid; 0.5-5.59 for lactic acid; 0.06-10.9 for propionic acid; 0.003-8.31 for butyric acid; 0.06-0.92 for NH3 -N). It was found that the the NIR calibration models developed for fermentation quality: (i) ranged from low to high reliability, (ii) were more reliable for parameters contained in larger quantities and (iii) were more suitable for dried and ground samples than for fresh samples
