Abstract

The number and quality of industrial architectural designs and accomplishments by architect Lavoslav Horvat have been unprecedented in Croatian architectural history. Their analysis and assessment thus contribute to the valuation of Croatian post-war architectural theory and practice. The Ðuro Ðaković factory of wagons, machines and bridges in Slavonski Brod, Dalmatinka factory of yarn and thread in Sinj and the TEŽ light bulb factory in Zagreb are Horvat’s three most significant works discussed in this paper.
