Abstract

Epidemic by Salmonella typhimurium, caused ice cream appeared in a small touristic place during the full season. Twenty-four individuals (among them 16 children) fell ill. Initial case was the owner of the cake shop, carrier of S. typhimurium, who was in the same time the only person producing the ice cream. S. typhimurium was isolated from 6 of 9 examined ill persons too, and from 2 of 5 samples of ice cream taken.
