Abstract

Milk yields in the F.P.R. of Yugoslavia are low, being about 1.000 litres per cow per year on the average, excluding the milk sucked by the calf. The main reason for this is that fodder is inadequate both in quantity and in quality. Of the total area devoted to agriculture 44.1 % is grassland, of which 19.7 % is stony pastures.
