Abstract
Using machines in work compared to using animals, slaves or feudal serfs is, no doubt, more human historical alternative with essentially higher possibilities of development. The argument for the rationalization of industrial technology is the increase in productivity that brings the increase in the standard of living, alleviate the conditions of physical work, make possible non-personal ways of management and self- regulated social system, connect nations by interests wider than national and it may lead to the abolition of necessary work.
Irrationality of the industrial technology lies in its laming ideology of the realization of the limited interest-capital, in repression of all other interests from philosophy, science, culture and art and in reducing each activity to instrumental activity of survival and increasing social distinctions in the distribution of goods. Latent indifference for the interests of the human and global system as a whole and cancerogenic growth of technological functions of production for wasteful expenditure, endanger the development of the personality and humanitarian role of the society, as well as the possibility of the life on earth.
Theoretical obstacle in projecting possible a n d necessary changes of technology consists in non-acceptance of different levels of these changes in quality and degree and in supposed continuity of technology in the course of human revolution and history. On the contrary, essentially different technological projects in the course of history are connected to essentially different compatible biosphere, psychosphere, sociosphere and infosphere and their shifts took place in revolutionary destruction, absorption and repression of previous technological projects.
Even before the industrial revolution loses its basis of exploitation by means of repression of live work and before it abolishes that work, it will live to see the destiny of previous agricultural project on the basis of radically different value orientation of information revolution and its new project of interaction of technology, individual, society, information and economy.
The problem of rationality of technology is nowadays reduced to systematic usage of the chances of the information revolution by increasing »positive balance« with regard to previous industrial project with the purpose of pacification of human existence.
